Youth

Foster FireFlies 4-H Club,

Approximately 30 children and their families are involved in the Kiester area 4-H program. Monthly meetings and activities are held at the Rice Lake area Metholdist Church. Programs are family oriented. 4-H activities teach life skills and leadership and give kids a chance to have fun and express themselves. The Foster FireFlies walk the road ditches near Kiester along Hwy. 22 as part of the “Adopt a Highway” program. They annually take part in the “Share the Fun” talent program. The Foster FireFlies have an active dog project teaching individual showmanship and obedience.

.  Meet the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Kiester Area Historical Society Museum.  They are always looking for new members.

Kiester Gardeners

contact person- Jason Gutt 815-382-8860, they meet the 4th Monday of the month at 4:30 p.m. at The Kiester Market.

The main focus of the club is to beautify the city with planters of flowers on Main Street, around the businesses, and the Welcome to Kiester sign.  They have an annual garden tour, and a plant sale as a fund raiser to help defray the costs of the planters.

Kiester Legion Auxiliary

Kiester, MN. 56051, President-Jeanette Parriot., meet the 2nd Wednesday  of the month at 6:30 p.m. at the American Legion.

The purpose of the American Legion Auxiliary is to foster and perpetuate Americanism and to instill a sense of obligation to the community, state, and nation. The Auxiliary sponsors a Bloodmobile and sends candidates to the Girls State and Girls County programs. We support our local American Legion Unit in many of their endeavors. Our unit actively serves many banquets and meetings in order to earn funds which are donated to a variety of community, state and national causes.

Founded in 1932, Sons of The American Legion exists to honor the service and sacrifice of Legionnaires.

SAL members include males of all ages whose parents or grandparents served in the U.S. military and were eligible for American Legion membership.

Stateline Snowmobile Club

Our purpose is to provide groomed trails for winter recreation in the Kiester area. Over 50 members pay dues to help keep trails groomed and marked. The Kiester trail goes south to the stateline and hooks up with Iowa trails, and north to Walters where it connects to the Freeborn county snowmobile trail. Trails are open to the public and are maintained by members throughout the winter months. The Club holds races and suppers to help with expenses involved in marking and grooming the many miles of trails.
