The Kiester City council held a special meeting on Monday July, 22, 2024, at the Kiester Community Center.

Mayor Hope Bauman called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Council Members Present: Larry Dahleen Brandon Hagenson,. City Maintenance: Gary Skartland; City Clerk: Doris Troll; Members of the public: Carol Rinehart, Brenda Visnovec, Paul Kaspzak, David Frundt Jason Zinter, Katina Thrond, Diana Adams, Marcia Dahleen, Michele Alphs, Al Bauman, Andrew Biddle, and Karen Busch

Agenda: Motion to accept agenda, by Brandon Hagenson, seconded by Larry Dahleen, vote 3-0 motion carried.

Liquor Store: Paul Kaspzak and Brenda Visnovec were present to help with ideas to Help with the liquor store to make a profit. Some Ideas they had were: pass the credit card fee on to the customer, sell THC beverages, improve the selection of wines with a better variety of dry to sweet flavored wines. Have the price points low, medium and high end. Have the distributors come and help with more tastings, do more promotions during the year where the customers place the orders ahead of time. Make people have to take action by coming into the store. Use more signage. See if the auditors would show the clerk’s pay as a line expense other than in with the regular wages of the staff.

Kiester Properties: a brief discussion as to legal action taken on 2 properties. No action was taken..

Chris Olson Property: after discussions of who put what in for piping. David will look deeper for any easements that may have been filed that were missed before the current easement request. The easement request is only for the underground piping, not for any overgrowth above ground. There was a motion to repair the piping and to place access T’s for future camera and clean outs if needed. By Brandon Hagenson Seconded by Larry Dahleen, vote 3-0, motion carried.
